Target to showcase Jason Wu collection in Toronto
US-based discount retailer Target, which is still a year away from opening in Canada, is bringing its limited-edition Jason Wu collection to Toronto.
The new pop-up shop at 363 King St. West, which will open on 23 February for a day, will showcase the Jason Wu collection. Prices for the collection range from $10 to $45.
Wu said his collaboration with Target reflects his classic design esthetic and is filled with feminine pieces that would brighten up any woman's wardrobe. His collection for Target debuted in US stores on 5 February.
Target Canada senior vice-president of marketing John Morioka said the goal right now is to start to introduce the Target brand to its Canadian guests.
"These limited time-collections are some of the best articulation of our brand promise...offering great design at affordable prices," Morioka said.
The company is limiting customers to buy just three pieces each, as it is anticipating high demand. Target wants to give as many people as possible to experience the collection.
The retailer will donate an amount equal to 100% of the sales from the event to United Way Toronto. The Toronto shop will stock 2,500 to 3,000 pieces for the one-day event.
